Maggie Finegan and Costa Rica
Maggie Finegan and Keith Clauson first traveled to Costa Rica in 2005. They fell in love with the country, especially the people, the climate, the food, and the geography. They enjoyed it so much that they decided to have their destination wedding in Playa Ocotal Costa Rica in 2006. Maggie and Keith returned to Costa Rica in 2007 with the intention to purchase a vacation home/investment property. Since then, Maggie has helped several people to purchase homes in Costa Rica, including realtors who love the country.
After touring the country for five days with a local real estate professional, and seeing more than 20 properties, they selected the Pacifico development in the town of Playa del Coco, province of Guanacaste. Pacifico’s location and amenities were above and beyond anything else they had seen (it's an eco community, covered with several lovely pools located amid lovely flowering plants, shrubs and trees, and there are tons of birds). It’s just 7 minutes from the beaches. They loved Pacific’s proximity to the gourmet grocery store, local shops and many restaurants. There are four national parks and the rainforests all located within an hour of Coco.
With the Liberia international airport just 30 minutes away, they can fly direct from Chicago and other major cities during high season. Maggie and Keith visit Costa Rica twice a year and enjoy it even more than when they first laid eyes on it. They are polishing up their conversational Spanish (although most Costa Ricans speak fluent English) and have many friends in the community. Maggie is getting to know the local arts and culture that is nearby. And of course they love having fresh mahi mahi, shrimp, or tuna every day, as well as fresh pineapple and mangoes.
